Network Setup Using the Add Printer Wizard

Introduction

In case of installation of a network printer such as LaserJet P2035n, power on the printer and connect the printer to the network. Once the printer IP address has been obtained or set up, the next step is to install the print driver using Add Printer Wizard on (Windows) PC.

This document provides instructions in two sections.

• Section 1 is running driver installation of HP LaserJet P2035 and P2035n GDI Plug and Play Package.
• Section 2 is setting up network printer using Add Printer Wizard.

Section 1: Run driver installation of HP LaserJet P2035 and P2035n GDI Plug and Play Package

1. Double click on the package file. The self-extracting process will appear.
   
2. Click to accept the terms in the license agreement. Click Next .
   
3. Driver installation begins. Driver files are pre-installed on PC during this process.
   
4. Below screen pops up to prompt to connect the USB cable. Click Cancel to abort the setup.
   
5. Press Yes to exit the setup.

Section 2: Set up network printer using Add Printer Wizard

1. Open Printers and Faxes folder. Click on Add a printer .
   
2. Add Printer Wizard appears. Click Next .
   
3. Choose Local printer option. Click Next .
   
4. Choose Create a new port . Select standard TCP/IP port.
   
5. Below screen appears. Click Next .
   
6. Enter printer IP address. Port name is automatically filled.
   
7. Select HP for manufacturer. Find and select the pre-installed driver. Click Next .
   
8. Select Replace existing driver . Click Next .
   
9. Enter printer name. Click Next .
   
10. Do not share this printer. Click Next .
    
11. Click Yes to print a test page. Click Next .
    
12. Click Finish to complete. A test page should be printed.
